The Royal Endurance Team stepped up preparations to take part in the EI Endurance World Championship for Young Horses which will be held tomorrow, Sunday, in the Republic of Estonia.
His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, Royal Endurance Team Captain His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, gave directives to participate in the 120-kilometre race.
Apart from the Kingdom of Bahrain, which is represented by the Royal Endurance Team, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Syria, Argentina, Hungary, Norway, Lithuania, Slovakia, Spain and Ukraine will also take part in the race, along with hosts Estonia.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa was keen to follow up the delegation remotely since it arrived in the Republic of Estonia to express support to the riders as they gear up for the international race.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad is holder of the international title after winning the FEI World Endurance Championship for eight-year-old horses in Spain in October 2022.
The Royal Team riders hope to shine in the much-awaited international race to feature on the podium and retain the title, despite stiff competition with the UAE contenders.
The Royal Endurance Team will be represented by 8 riders who will take part in the international race- These are HH Shaikh Isa bin Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Salman Isa, Raed Mahmoud, Mohammed Abdulhamid Al Hashemi, Othman Al Awadhi, Isa Al Enzi, Khalid Youssef and Fahd Helal Al Khateri.
Team director Dr. Khalid Ahmed Hassan took part in the open ceremony and joined other teams in planting the “participation tree”. The Royal Endurance Team riders also took part in the opening ceremony at the village where Bahrain’s flag was hoisted among other flags.
Meanwhile, all Royal Endurance Team’s horses successful passed the medical tests which were performed today, on the eve of the race.
