Moscow: The Russian Foreign Ministry has accused Ukraine of failing to adhere to the truce and deliberately targeting civilian energy infrastructure. Official Spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, said in a post on Telegram that Ukraine did not abide by the truce announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin two days ago. She added that the Kyiv regime violated the ceasefire using American-made HIMARS rocket systems.
According to Qatar News Agency, Zakharova noted that during the pause in strikes on energy infrastructure facilities, Ukrainian forces deliberately targeted civilian energy infrastructure. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had previously accused Russia of violating the ceasefire more than 2,000 times, although he confirmed that no Russian airstrikes had taken place.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Ukrainian armed forces had carried out 900 airstrikes, including on the border area, resulting in casualties and damage to civilian infrastructure.
The ongoing exchange of accusations highlights the fragility of the ceasefire and the challenges facing efforts to de-escalate the conflict, as both sides continue to report violations and casualties.
