The Russian Ministry of Defense announced today that its forces had shot down 3 Ukrainian Su-27 and MiG-29 fighter jets in the past 24 hours. The ministry said in a statement that Russian air defense systems also intercepted a HIMARS missile, four Hummer bombs and 55 drones, 22 of which were outside the "special military operations zone." The statement explained that units of the Russian "South" group were able to control "useful" lines and sites. For its part, the Ukrainian Air Force announced Sunday that air defense units destroyed ten drones out of 14 launched by Russia last night targeting its territory. Russia also launched two Iskander-M ballistic missiles and a Kh-59 guided missile targeting the Odessa region in southern Ukraine, added the Air Force via the Telegram app. The Air Force indicated that the guided missile was destroyed, but it did not disclose the fate of the two Iskander-M missiles or whether the attack resulted in damage.
