Russia Announces Wide Offensive on Ukrainian Energy, Military Industry Facilities

Doha: The Russian ministry of defense announced Thursday that its forces had targeted Ukrainian energy and military-industrial centers using precision-guided weapons. In a statement, the ministry said that its forces had seized new strategic lines and positions deep inside Ukraine in the past 24 hours, improving their tactical position along the entire front. It claimed to have inflicted 1,270 casualties on Ukrainian forces, including both killed and wounded, and destroyed numerous pieces of military equipment.

According to Qatar News Agency, the ministry also stated that its air defense forces shot down 211 drones, 5 long-range cruise missiles, 6 guided bombs, and 8 HIMARS missiles. It is worth noting that most Western intelligence reports indicate that by the end of 2025, Russia will control 19 percent of Ukraine's territory, amounting to more than 5,600 square kilometers.
