Moscow: The Russian Ministry of Defense announced today that air defense systems destroyed 103 Ukrainian drones during the night hours, which targeted various areas of the country.
According to Qatar News Agency, in a statement, the ministry explained that air defenses shot down 26 drones over the Belgorod region, 20 drones over the Rostov region, 19 drones over the airspace of Crimea, 11 drones over the Ryazan region, 11 drones over the Krasnodar Territory, and 5 drones over the Voronezh region, in addition to 4 drones over the Lipetsk region and 3 drones over the Kursk region.
The ministry added that one drone was intercepted over each of Astrakhan, Volgograd, and the Republic of Kalmykia, in addition to one drone shot down over the waters of the Sea of Azov.
During the operation, Moscow confirmed that it destroyed several pieces of equipment, including German Leopard 2 tanks, American and British armored vehicles, as well as a large number of vehicles provided by NATO countries.
Russian border regions, including Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, and Voronezh, have been experiencing almost daily attacks by Ukrainian drones and missiles. Reports between Russia and Ukraine conflict over the realities of the situation on the ground since the beginning of the conflict between Moscow and Kyiv in February 2022.
