Moscow: The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that its air defense systems successfully intercepted 130 Ukrainian drones over various Russian regions overnight, including one over the capital, Moscow.
According to Qatar News Agency, the ministry detailed that 25 of these drones targeted the Moscow region, with 15 specifically heading toward Moscow city. Additionally, 38 drones were intercepted over the Astrakhan region, and 25 were downed over the Bryansk region. The ministry also reported the interception of 8 drones each over the Belgorod, Rostov, and Kaluga regions, 6 over the Tula region, 4 over Kalmykia, and 3 over each of the Kursk and Oryol regions. Furthermore, one drone was taken down over the Ryazan region and another over the Caspian Sea.
The conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which began on February 24, 2022, has seen both sides regularly reporting on military maneuvers and defenses. These claims, however, remain unverified due to the ongoing nature of the war.
