Moscow: Russia remains interested in resuming trade, economic and investment cooperation with the United States, the Kremlin has said, despite continuing tensions between the two countries. Speaking in Moscow on Wednesday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated Russia's openness to rebuilding commercial links with Washington.
According to Qatar News Agency, Peskov emphasized Russia's interest in restoring economic connections with the United States. "We remain interested in resuming trade, economic and investment cooperation with the United States," he said, commenting on prospects for restoring broader bilateral cooperation.
Economic ties between Moscow and Washington have been severely curtailed in recent years amid sanctions and political disputes, particularly following the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The ongoing tensions have complicated efforts to maintain stable economic relations.
Earlier, Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov mentioned that relations between President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump were "good," but claimed that European countries were seeking to undermine these relations. His remarks highlight the longstanding tensions between Russia and Western nations, with Moscow frequently accusing Europe of complicating dialogue with Washington by taking a hard line.
