Russia Reaffirms Commitment to Political Settlement of Ukraine Conflict

Moscow: Russia has stated that some European countries hamper the efforts to achieve a peaceful settlement in Ukraine. The European approaches run contrary to those of Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump, said Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for the Russian Presidency.

According to Qatar News Agency, Peskov stressed that the Russian military operation in Ukraine will continue as long as Ukraine has not made reciprocal efforts to resolve the conflict through peaceful means. He emphasized Russia's adherence to its position and its readiness to resolve the conflict in Ukraine through political and diplomatic means.

Trump has so far reiterated his desire to reach a deal that would end the Russia-Ukraine war, ongoing since February 2022, believing that he would pull that off.
