Russia Takes Over New Town in Southeastern Ukraine

Doha: The Russian forces took over the town of Pishchane in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast in southeastern Ukraine following a precision military operation that targeted the Tactical Assembly Area (TAA) of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the Russian Defense Ministry announced in a statement Monday. The statement clarified that the Russian forces also targeted the infrastructure facilities participating in the transference of Western weaponry to Ukraine, alongside munitions and fuel dumps.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Russian military took out military service members and destroyed five mechanical battalions, two offensive battalions of the Ukrainian forces, in addition to a regional defense brigade and a brigade from the National Guard, the statement continued. It further highlighted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces incurred losses that exceeded 220 troops and six combat vehicles, among them two armored infantry carriers of the Stryker type and two American-made armored Humvee vehicles.

Also destroyed were 12 vehicles, two artillery pieces, two electronic warfare stations, one counter-battery radar, and three ammunition dump areas.
