The Russian authorities have announced the successful liberation of two hostages who were held by a group of detainees at a detention center in Rostov Oblast, located 200 kilometers north of Moscow. All six detainees involved in the incident were neutralized. In a statement, the Russian Federal Penitentiary Service reported that during a special operation to free the hostages at the detention center under the jurisdiction of the Russian Federal Penitentiary Service in Rostov Oblast, all the captors were eliminated, and the two staff members held as hostages were released unharmed. The incident involved several pre-trial detainees who took two detention center staff members hostage. Among these detainees were individuals arrested at the end of last year, accused of plotting to bomb the Supreme Court building in the Republic of Karachay-Cherkessia, part of the Russian Federation, according to Russian authorities. The detainees demanded to leave the center in exchange for the release of the hostages, who were being held at knifepoint. Source: Qatar News Agency
