Doha: The Russian Ministry of Defense announced Thursday, that its air defense systems destroyed 27 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Ministry stated that its air defense systems destroyed 27 drones over the Belgorod region, seven over the Voronezh region, three over the Tambov region, and two over the Kursk region.
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced launching a precision strike on Ukraine's critical gas and energy infrastructure in retaliation for Ukrainian attacks deep within Russian territory. These included long-range ATACMS and Storm Shadow missile strikes, as well as an attempted assault on the Russkaya compressor station in Gay Kodzor (Krasnodar Region) aimed at disrupting gas supplies through the Turkish Stream pipeline.
The strikes were aimed at targeting the ground infrastructure of the largest underground gas storage facility in the city of Stryi in the Lviv region.
Russia and Ukraine are exchanging daily announcements about downing drones targeting each other's territories as part of the ongoing conflict between them, which began in February 2022.
