Russian President Vladimir Putin is due to meet, on Tuesday, with the Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, as the latter has embarked on an official visit to Russia. Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) quoted Palestinian ambassador to Moscow, Abdel Hafiz Nofal, as saying that the two presidents will discuss ways to support the ongoing efforts to halt the ongoing aggression on the Palestinian people and immediately get humanitarian aid into the stricken Gaza Strip. Nofal added that the meeting will discuss bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to develop them in all fields, as well as a range of issues of common interest. Russian President had met with his Palestinian counterpart about three years ago in the Russian city of Sochi, where they discussed the situation in the Palestinian territories and the latest political developments.
