South korea: South Korea and the United States have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening joint defense cooperation between the two countries. This came during a phone call held today between Chairman of South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Jin Yong-sung and Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine, during which they discussed the importance of maintaining a strong defensive posture to deter North Korean threats.
According to Qatar News Agency, the two sides also agreed to continue close coordination and consultation on alliance-related issues, which will be further discussed during the bilateral Military Committee Meeting scheduled to take place in Seoul next month. Their phone talks marked the first such conversation since Jin took office late last month.
