S. Korea’s ICT Exports Rise 11.1% Amid Semiconductor Boom

Seoul: South Korea's exports of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) products rose 11.1% year-on-year in August, driven by strong semiconductor sales.

According to Qatar News Agency, data from the Ministry of Science and ICT showed that exports of ICT products reached $22.87 billion last month, up 11.1% from the same period a year earlier.

By product, semiconductor exports hit a record high of $15.11 billion, driven by growing demand for AI-related chips despite US tariff measures. Exports of telecommunications equipment increased 1.8%, while exports of displays, mobile phones, and computers declined by 9.4%, 15.4%, and 16.6%, respectively.

ICT imports rose 7.6% year-on-year to $12.53 billion, resulting in a trade surplus of $10.34 billion in the sector.
