Doha: The 49th Saleh Saqr Ramadan Football Tournament will continue Wednesday at Doha Stadium, supervised by the Qatar Football Association (QFA) in collaboration with the Qatar Stars League, running until Ramadan 21 with the participation of 16 squads.
According to Qatar News Agency, in the second round of Group C, Ansar Gallery and Mayas India are poised to clash, eying their coveted qualification cards, while the second match will bring together Al Mansoura and Al Shaqab in a showdown that is no less significant, as the group's calculations remain wide open to all odds.
In the previous round, Petri secured a 3-0 victory over Kenya FC, with goals scored by Mazen Haider, Mazen Al Tayeb, and Mohammed Mudathir, confirming the team's preparation for the title race.
In the second match, defending champion Mshereb achieved a decisive 4-0 win over Gambia Scorpions, continuing their strong performance with a second consecutive triumph. The goals were scored by Mohammed Abdeljalil, Mahmoud Islam, Ismail Azoumeh, and Youssef Matyar.
The participating squads were divided into four groups. Group A included Mshereb, Petri, Gambia Scorpions, and Kenya FC. Group B featured Doha, Mombasa Club, Box to Box, and Al Laqtifiya Club. Group C comprised Mbas Al Hindi, Al Mansoura Club, Ansar Gallery, and Al Shaqab Club. Group D included Senegalese Community, Al Jazira, Al Riffa Club, and Al Dhaayen Club.
This Ramadan tournament maintains its annual nature, combining a sports contest with the Ramadan social atmosphere, offering opportunities for the emergence of numerous talents, alongside the participation of squads that include experienced footballers.
