Samsung officially announced the SSD T9, a portable storage device that follows the famous previous release T7.
The SSD T9 provides double the data transfer speed, a new design, and a wider storage capacity.
The T9 features a read and write speed of 2,000 megabytes-per-second on the USB 3.2 Gen 22 interface.
Also, it includes a Dynamic Thermal Guard to control the temperature and prevent overheating during high-speed data transfers.
Shape-wise, the SSD is built like a credit card, featuring curved lines and reverse carbon patterns on the surface, providing a fabric-like texture.
Samsung clarified that the T9 is resistant to fall damage for up to 3 meters, but without clarification on if it's water-resistance, unlike the previous T7 Shield, yet Samsung provides a 5-year warranty for the latest SSD T9.
The SSD works with Samsung's Magician Software 8.0, which displays performance measures, added security features, firmware updates, and real-time disk status checking, with AES 256 encryption, and works with various operating systems
