Riyadh:Saudi Arabia has implemented strict travel restrictions against Kenya in light of the ongoing Ebola outbreak. These measures include the suspension of travel to Kenya, a halt on all visa issuance for travelers from the country, and a ban on entry for individuals who have stayed in Kenya or other Ebola-affected nations within the 21 days prior to their arrival.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Saudi Public Health Authority has stated that the health situation within the Kingdom remains reassuring and is subject to continuous monitoring by health officials.
The authority emphasized that preventive measures have been enacted to enhance the Kingdom’s response readiness and to ensure the protection of public health. These actions are part of a series of precautions that were first introduced in July 2019 and have been reinforced as recently as May 2026.
In addition to the restrictions on Kenya, Saudi Arabia had previously suspended travel to and from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda, and South Sudan in June 2026. The country also intensified its screening and epidemiological surveillance at entry points to further safeguard against the spread of the disease.
