Saudi Arabia’s Non-Oil Exports Grow by 17.8 Percent

Doha: Saudi Arabia's non-oil exports, including re-exports, recorded a 22.1 percent increase in June 2025 compared to June 2024, while national non-oil exports (excluding re-exports) rose by 8.4 percent.

According to Qatar News Agency, the International Trade Bulletin for Q2 2025 by the Saudi General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) indicates that non-oil exports continued to grow by 17.8 percent year-on-year. National non-oil exports increased by 5.6 percent, while re-exports saw a significant jump of 46.2 percent. GASTAT also reported an increase in the value of re-exported goods by 60.2 percent.

Overall merchandise exports rose by 3.7 percent in June despite a 2.5 percent decline in oil exports, which reduced oil's share of total exports to 70.2 percent compared to 74.7 percent a year earlier. Imports increased by 1.7 percent, improving the ratio of non-oil exports to imports to 39.2 percent from 32.7 percent. The trade surplus grew by 10.6 percent year-on-year.

Chemical industry products led non-oil exports at 24.5 percent, followed by machinery, electrical equipment, and parts at 23.3 percent. Machinery and electrical equipment also topped the list of imports at 30.6 percent. China remained Saudi Arabia's main trade partner, accounting for 15.5 percent of total exports and 27.9 percent of total imports in June 2025.

Total merchandise exports for Q2 2025 fell by 7.3 percent compared to Q2 2024 due to a 15.8 percent drop in oil exports, lowering oil's share of total exports to 67.9 percent from 74.7 percent. Imports rose 13.1 percent year-on-year, while the trade surplus declined by 56.2 percent. Non-oil exports to imports improved to 37.3 percent compared to 35.8 percent in Q2 2024. Chemical products led non-oil exports at 23.0 percent, followed by machinery and electrical equipment at 21.7 percent, while the latter also ranked first among imports at 28.9 percent.
