Riyadh: Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah has affirmed that US President Donald Trump's visit to Saudi Arabia carried special significance and demonstrated the two countries' keenness to strengthen the partnership to achieve common goals.
According to Qatar News Agency, during a press conference on Wednesday following the conclusion of President Trump's visit to Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Foreign Minister pointed to the depth of economic relations and the distinguished partnership between the two countries, noting that the total volume of trade between the two countries from 2013 to 2024 amounted to approximately $500 billion.
He added that the Saudi-US Investment Forum witnessed dozens of meetings with private sector leaders and the largest companies in both countries, resulting in partnership opportunities worth $600 billion, including agreements exceeding $300 billion in various fields.
The partnership also encompasses several development and pivotal sectors and supports efforts to diversify the Saudi economy and the opportunities available in strategic and promising sectors in the US economy in the long term, contributing to achieving the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
The Saudi Foreign Minister praised the US President's announcement to lift sanctions on Syria, appreciating this important step toward rebuilding Syria and expressing his hope that this would contribute to Syria's stability and progress.
He noted that the leaders of Saudi Arabia and the United States discussed developments in several countries, including Yemen, Lebanon, and Sudan, affirming Saudi Arabia's full support for everything that would achieve security and stability and create conditions for development and prosperity in the region.
The Foreign Minister emphasized the agreement of the Saudi and US leaderships on the necessity of halting the war in Gaza, releasing the hostages, ensuring the flow of humanitarian and relief aid, and working to achieve a just and lasting peace.
The Kingdom also affirmed the principle of a two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders.
