SCH Chairman opens Manama Health Conference and Expo 2034

Manama, Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH), opened the Manama Health Conference and Expo 2023.

The conference hosted the Arab-German Health Forum, in the presence of Dr. Jalila bint Sayed Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health.

The forum discussed the application of health insurance, technological advancements in the health sector, as well as investment and financing options.

Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah stressed the importance of exchanging expertise with international health specialists to establish competencies and enhance the health system's sustainability and effectiveness.

He noted that the conference and exhibition bring together a distinguished group of international healthcare and supply companies, and it is an excellent opportunity to learn about the latest technological advances. Among the topics include artificial intelligence, robotic surgery, genomics, cardiology, and cosmetics.

Dr. Al Sayed said that Manama Health 2023 contributes significantly to improving the quality of medical care and strengthening cooperation across health sectors.

She emphasised the importance of hosting these events for the exchange of expertise with various international companies in the healthcare sector to improve the quality of services and enhance their sustainability.

Sameer Abdullah Nass, chairman of BCCI, affirmed that Health care is one of the fastest-growing industries in the world, and investment in this sector has become indispensable to confront challenges that may arise in the future. This indicates that partnerships between the public and private sectors are crucial to promoting comprehensive healthcare growth and development.

He emphasised the important role of BCCI and the Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in promoting trade and investment opportunities across various sectors.

Dr. Maryam Athbi Al Jalahma, Chief Executive of the Government Hospitals, said that the Health Insurance Law is considered a turning point in Bahrain's healthcare development, as it provides a comprehensive, high-quality, sustainable, flexible, investment-attractive health system, while ensuring that fair and competitive health care services are available within a framework that protects everyone's rights.

The Manama Health 2023 is held from December 7 to 9, providing exhibitors with a great opportunity to market their products, establish deals and contracts; as well as provide scientific and practical material through workshops and educational lectures.
