The Supervisory Committee of the "National Educator and Teacher" programme, chaired by Her Highness Shaikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, Member of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), reviewed the second phase of the programme's action plan, focusing on family stability and equal opportunities within the National Plan for the Advancement of Bahraini Women.
The committee aims to support female workers' participation in the early education sector and propose solutions to improve its performance.
The committee reviewed proposals to enhance private sector partnerships for early education and the "Training and Wages Support" programme, aiming to establish professional paths and link them to social insurance, preparing for the end of temporary contract formulas.
They stressed the importance of educating the administrative and educational staff working in the sector about their job rights and occupational health and safety, as well as diversifying sources and methods of development and learning through preparing guidelines and implementing specialised workshops.
It is worth noting that the committee was established in 2017 as per the directives of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King and SCW President.
Chaired by HH Shaikha Hessa bint Khalifa, the panel comprises members representing the relevant authorities such as the Education Ministry, Labour Ministry, Health Ministry and the Labour Fund (Tamkeen) and the University of Bahrain (UoB) as well as the Social Insurance Organisation (SIO).
