Ayman bin Tawfiq Al Moayyed, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), emphasised that Arab Youth Day, celebrated on 5 July each year, is an important occasion to recognise the significant role youth play in societal development. It also celebrates the capabilities of Arab youth in Bahrain, acknowledging their priorities as essential leaders and partners who have proven themselves through their achievements and ability to shaping the future. The Secretary-General noted that Bahraini youth receive substantial support from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, who believes that sustainable development in the kingdom is tied to the inclusion of youth in shaping the future. This is further supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, who has prioritised youth as a central pillar in the government's programme, providing opportunities for youth empowerment, training, and leadership positions. The Secretary-General also hi ghlighted the vision of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), who advocates for youth through a supportive and motivating strategy aimed at driving Bahraini youth to exert greater efforts towards achieving empowerment, thus allowing them to realise their dreams. The Secretary-General expressed his pride in Bahraini and Arab youth and their commendable achievements in various forums, asserting that Bahraini and Arab youth deserve recognition. He urged Bahraini and Arab youth to continue developing their skills, working diligently, and striving to achieve great goals, thereby elevating the status of Arab nations in various fields. He commended the collaborative efforts of Arab countries in enhancing the role of youth through joint youth programmes, which highlight the outstanding contributions of youth. The Secretary-General noted that the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, under the leadership of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, places significant importance on youth issues, working to create an environment conducive to developing their talents and abilities, and supporting their projects and ideas, thereby encouraging youth participation in the kingdom's development process.
