Doha: The 47th World Military Parachuting Championship (CISM Qatar 2025), organized by the Qatar Air Sports Committee (QASC) and under the patronage of HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al-Thani, continued Sunday. The event is taking place at Umm Shkhout Airport in Doha and will run until November 23.
According to Qatar News Agency, the second day witnessed intense competition among participants in the style, four-way formation, and accuracy landing events for both men and women. The results of these competitions are set to be announced on Monday.
The championship, which began on Saturday, attracts 30 national teams, including Qatar, Algeria, Germany, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Brazil, China, South Korea, Denmark, the UAE, Spain, France, Egypt, Italy, Kuwait, Latvia, Morocco, Oman, the Netherlands, Bulgaria, Poland, Croatia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Tunisia, and Turkiye. Slovakia is participating as the flag bearer for the upcoming edition of the competition.
QASC Deputy Chairman, Col. Abdullah Saeed Al Mansoori, highlighted the record-breaking participation from countries and athletes of both genders, reflecting CISM's trust in QASC. He emphasized the Committee's responsibility to enhance efforts in serving the air sports community and its commitment to implementing strategic plans to advance Qatari sports, aiming for higher achievements and podium finishes.
Meanwhile, QASC Secretary-General, Capt. Hazzaa Al Attiyah, praised the excellence witnessed at the opening ceremony of the CISM Championship 2025, along with the inauguration of the museum. He noted the acknowledgment from attending dignitaries, delegation heads, and CISM members and stressed the importance of further developing air sports in Qatar, expressing the Committee's ambition to deliver an exceptional edition of the championship.
