Second Round of HH The Father Amir’s Equestrian Prix Kicks Off with Over 240 Riders

Doha: The second round of the HH The Father Amir's Equestrian Prix is set to commence on Thursday at the Longines Arena in Al Shaqab, featuring the participation of more than 240 riders as part of the Doha Equestrian Tour 2026.

According to Qatar News Agency, the event will open with a three-star class at a height of 135 cm, followed by another at 140 cm. Five-star class competitions will also take place, starting at 140 cm, with another class at 150 cm, all scheduled on the main Longines outdoor arena.

The second outdoor arena will see a three-star class at 125 cm, followed by a one-star class at 110 cm. Additionally, the Longines indoor arena will host a one-star class at 120 cm and a local class at 60 cm.

Friday's competitions at the Longines Main Outdoor Arena will include a 3-star class at 130 cm, followed by classes at 145 cm, and 5-star classes at both 145 cm and 155 cm with a jump-off. A notable feature will be the 5-star class with six obstacles at 150 cm, a first for an international championship.

The Outdoor Arena (2) will host a 3-star class at 140 cm with a jump-off, while the Longines Indoor Arena will hold 1-star classes at 115 cm and 125 cm and conclude with a local class at 80 cm.

The event will conclude on Saturday with Grand Prix events in three categories. The main outdoor arena will feature a 3-star Grand Prix at 150 cm and a 5-star Grand Prix at 160 cm, both with jump-offs. The Longines Indoor arena will have a 1-star Grand Prix at 130 cm with a jump-off.

Additionally, the outdoor arena (2) will host a 3-star class at 130 cm and a local class at 100 cm. The Longines Indoor arena will offer a 1-star class at 115 cm and a Junior class at 130 cm with a jump-off, qualifying for Group 7.

Finally, the main outdoor arena will showcase a 3-star class at 140 cm, followed by a 5-star class at 150 cm, consisting of two rounds.

In the first round of the Prix, British rider Harry Charles won the Grand Prix title for the 4-star category at 155 cm, and Oliver Fletcher secured the Grand Prix title for the 2-star category at 145 cm. Qatari riders dominated the 1-star category, with Hussein Saeed Haidan winning, Saad Ahmed Al Saad taking second, and Ghanem Nasser Al Qadi placing third.
