Doha: The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Mr. Hussein Ibrahim Taha, participated in the opening session of the 26th Conference of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA) held in Doha, Qatar, on Sunday, May 4, 2025. The event brought together distinguished scholars and experts to discuss and deliberate on pressing issues facing the Islamic world.
According to Union of OIC News Agencies, Mr. Taha delivered a speech during the session, where he extended a warm welcome to the participants involved in the scientific discussions. He highlighted the importance of collective ijtihad, or exercise of reasoning, by the scholars to issue fatwas and clarify Islam's stance on various contemporary and emerging issues. Mr. Taha also praised the IIFA's efforts in enlightening the Islamic community and promoting the values of Islam amidst a world of continuous transformation.
