Al mayadeen: A member of the internal security forces was killed Friday in a suicide attack targeting the "Siyasiya" checkpoint in the city of Al Mayadeen in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, eastern Syria.

According to Qatar News Agency, security sources reported that two ISIS militants carried out the attack on the checkpoint. One of the attackers was neutralized by fire from the security personnel present at the scene, while the other detonated his explosive, resulting in the death of the security officer and causing an explosion near the checkpoint.

The same sources confirmed that the relevant authorities are continuing to pursue remnants of the organization and track their movements in the area.
