South Korea has warned North Korea that it will face the end of its regime if it tries to use nuclear weapons, warning of a firm and overwhelming response from the South Korea-US alliance. South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol said on the occasion of the 76th Armed Forces Day, that their military will immediately respond to North Korea's provocations based on strong combat capabilities and readiness, South Korea's (Yonhap) news agency reported. "If North Korea ever tries to use a nuclear weapon, it will be met with a decisive and overwhelming response from our armed forces and alliance with the US, and that will be the day its regime ends," he added. Yoon urged the Pyongyang regime to shed illusions that nuclear weapons guarantee its security and pledged to build a strong military and bolster its security posture based on a strong alliance with the US, as well as trilateral cooperation that includes Japan.
