Jerusalem: Dozens of settlers stormed the courtyards of the Al Aqsa Mosque on Wednesday and performed Talmudic rituals under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Jerusalem Governorate reported that 152 settlers entered the courtyards of the Al Aqsa Mosque. The occupation forces have intensified efforts to ban several Jerusalemites from accessing the mosque, aiming to reduce Palestinian presence, potentially paving the way for imposing restrictions on religious practices and facilitating settler incursions.
The Jerusalem Governorate documented that, during January, 4,397 settlers stormed the Al Aqsa courtyards, with an additional 7,868 individuals entering under what was described as "tourism." These incursions were accompanied by significant developments, including recommendations from the Israeli Knesset to restrict worshipper access during the upcoming month of Ramadan, challenging the historical and legal status quo, and signaling an attempt to assert the occupation's authority over the Al Aqsa Mosque.
