The Doha Institute for Graduate Studies (DI) announced that seven of its academic programs have obtained international accreditation from the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA), which is based in Germany.
The seven programs have applied for accreditation in three separate clusters, where the first was for the programs of Philosophy, History, and Linguistics and Arabic Lexicography. The second included the Development Economics and Critical Security Studies programs, and the third cluster had the programs of Social Work and Psychology (both Clinical and Social). With this achievement, all DI programs are now internationally accredited except for the Journalism program, which is following a specific accreditation track through a specialized American Accreditation body, and the Human Rights program as it was launched at DI only in 2020-2021.
In this context, President of the DI Dr. Abdelwahab El-Affendi said: "The accredited programs have met all the required international quality standards, with some programs exceeding the criteria requirements with exceptional results in areas like the Objectives of the Program, its position in the educational market, the international orientation of the program, the academic qualifications of faculty members, student diversity, partnership with other institutions, among other important standards".
Dr El-Affendi added that the review meetings with the accreditors had positive participation from all involved at the DI, for which he expressed his appreciation to all those who contributed to this success.
It is worth noting that the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation FIBAA is a recognized accreditation body for the Higher Education Sector, with a focus on Administration, Business Management, Law, Humanities, Social Sciences and Economics.
