Sheikh Jassim Competition Participates in Quran Competition in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Sarajevo: The Sheikh Jassim bin Muhammad bin Thani Noble Quran Competition of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs participated in the activities of the 17th annual Quran Memorization and Recitation Competition of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Held in Sarajevo, the competition was organized by the department of religious affairs of the presidency of scholars of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

According to Qatar News Agency, the participating delegation was headed by Ahmed bin Shaheen Al Ghanim, a member of the organizing committee of the Sheikh Jassim Competition. Al Ghanim emphasized the State of Qatar's commitment to sponsoring projects that encourage the Holy Quran's memorization, recitation, and contemplation.

He stated that this competition is of particular value, as it brings together young people who memorize and learn the Holy Quran, noting that the State of Qatar's sponsorship of such initiatives is evidence of the strong fraternal relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina and its continued support for Quranic projects.

For his part, Dr. Hafiz Mensur Malkic, the director of the department of religious affairs in Bosnia and Herzegovina, said that the competition resumed two years ago after a hiatus of several years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He noted that its goal is to consolidate the status of Quran memorization and recitation in Bosnia and encourage young people to compete and exchange experiences in preparation for international competitions.
