Shura Chairman participates in Second Parliamentary Media Forum

Manama, Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, delivered a speech in the Second Parliamentary Media Forum, held under the theme "Artificial Intelligence and Its Role in Parliamentary Performance: Opportunities and Challenges", in which he emphasised the importance of technological advancements and digitalisation in transforming the way information is shared. He also highlighted AI as an essential tool for improving parliamentary performance, aligning with modern developments in media and technology and noted Bahrain's commitment to ensuring AI is used safely. The forum is organised by the Arab Administrative Development Organisation (ARADO). Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Minister of Information, as well as members from Bahrain's legislative bodies and representatives from Arab parliaments and media organisations, were present. Al Saleh underscored the various ways AI can assist parliamentarians and staff, from a nalysing public sentiment through big data to streamlining decision-making processes with data-driven recommendations. He noted that these advancements not only improve efficiency but also help lawmakers focus on critical matters. He further explained that AI has the potential to enhance communication and collaboration between parliamentarians and staff, while also supporting more accurate analysis of budget data and performance. Additionally, AI can provide easier access to research and information, significantly aiding the legislative process. Al Saleh also praised the participation of AI experts from across the Arab world, who contributed their insights on how AI can reshape parliamentary functions. He pointed to the concerns about data privacy and the accuracy of AI-generated information but expressed confidence that such challenges could be addressed. Source: Bahrain News Agency
