The Shura Council, along with several international bodies, organizations and parliamentary councils, is taking part in monitoring the presidential elections that began this morning in the Republic of Venezuela. The Shura Council is represented in monitoring the Venezuelan elections by HE Dr. Sultan bin Hassan Al Dhabet Al Dosari, member of the Council and head of the Qatari Parliamentary Friendship Group with Latin American and Caribbean countries. Voters in Venezuela started casting their votes in the presidential elections on Sunday morning, to select a president between incumbent Nicolas Maduro and former diplomat Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia.
