Shura Council Praises GCC Summit Outcomes and Approves State Budget for 2025.

Doha: The Shura Council held its regular weekly session on Monday at the Tamim bin Hamad Hall, presided over by HE Speaker Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim. During the session, the council lauded HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's participation in the 45th Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit in Kuwait. The council praised the summit's outcomes, which are expected to strengthen joint Gulf actions and foster unity and integration among GCC countries for the benefit of their peoples. According to Qatar News Agency, the Shura Council also welcomed the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon, expressing hope that this would lead to ending the suffering of the Lebanese people and restoring regional stability. The council further expressed its desire for broader efforts to end Israeli aggression on Gaza and the West Bank, aiming for a just and comprehensive peace that aligns with Arab aspirations. The council reiterated Qatar's steadfast support for peace and stability in the region, advocating for peaceful solut ions that uphold peoples' rights and alleviate their suffering. Following this, HE Secretary-General Nayef bin Mohammed Al Mahmoud presented the session's agenda, and the minutes of the previous session were approved. The council endorsed the draft state budget for the fiscal year 2025, submitting it to the government after reviewing the Economic and Financial Affairs Committee's report. Additionally, the council discussed a bill amending provisions of the Civil Human Resources Law No.15 of 2016, referring it to the Social Affairs, Labor, and Housing Committee for further review. The Council also approved a bill amending provisions of Law No. 16 of 2018 regarding non-Qataris' property ownership and usufruct, referring it to the government after reviewing the Health, General Services, and Environment Committee's report.
