Manama, Dr. Jehad Abdullah Al Fadhel, Second Deputy Chairperson of the Shura Council, inaugurated a parliamentary simulation session as part of the seventh edition of the Young Parliamentarian Program 2024. The event, held under the patronage of Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, was organised by the Youth Leadership Society. Dr. Al Fadhel highlighted the significant contributions of Bahraini youth in national development through various initiatives. She noted that their unique awareness and cultural depth are essential to the kingdom's future progress, which is built on hard work and achievement. She also stressed the importance of nurturing democratic values and enhancing national awareness among the youth to realise the aspirations of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. She further underlined the importance of purposeful discussions by the youth, especially in practical settings like the simulation session, which addressed a variety of youth-related issues. Dr. Al Fadhel pointe d out that His Majesty the King's reception of outstanding students from different educational stages reaffirms the central role of education in the kingdom's development. In view of global conflicts and challenges, Dr. Al Fadhel urged the youth to value the security and stability Bahrain enjoys. She emphasised that the kingdom's continuous efforts in providing services in health, education, housing, and employment should motivate the youth to promote unity and preserve the country's social fabric. Dr. Al Fadhel commended the quality of discussions during the virtual committee meetings, which addressed legislative amendments and showcased positive visions for improving the legislative system, especially in finance, environment, services, education, and youth sectors. She concluded by saying that participants' recommendations from the simulation session would be documented for review and possible legislative action, noting that the youth have successfully identified challenges and proposed appropriate solut ions, which are the core responsibilities of legislators.
