Shura Council to Participate in the Assembly of the IPU Taking Place Tomorrow in Tashkent

Tashkent: The Shura Council, with a delegation led by Speaker Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim, is set to participate in the meetings of the 150th session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly and the 215th session of the Governing Council of the union. The five-day meeting will commence tomorrow in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

According to Qatar News Agency, the session's agenda will cover several topics concerning current global issues. Key discussions will focus on developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, international peace and security, and mechanisms for environmental governance to address climate change repercussions. Additionally, the activation of legislative frameworks to achieve social and economic justice will be a focal point.

Participants in the assembly will also evaluate parliamentary initiatives aimed at expediting the attainment of sustainable development goals both regionally and internationally. Discussions will include progress assessments of these goals, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts in achieving them.
