Bangkok: The authorities in Thailand announced that the death toll from the powerful earthquake that struck the capital, Bangkok, on Friday has reached six, with 22 injured, and 101 missing. Earlier, officials had reported 10 fatalities, but later revised the number down to 6, explaining that first responders had mistakenly presumed some of the critically injured at the scene were dead. However, once they arrived at the hospital, doctors were able to revive them.
According to Qatar News Agency, the earthquake, which struck Bangkok on Friday, measured 7.3 on the Richter scale. Thai authorities reported damage to buildings across the city following the quake. Police stated that a 30-story skyscraper under construction collapsed completely, with 43 workers trapped under the rubble.
