Berlin: Official data released Friday showed a slight improvement in the performance of the German economy during the final quarter of 2025, compared to initial estimates.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Federal Statistical Office in Germany reported that the gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 0.3 percent during the fourth quarter of last year compared to the third quarter, an upward revision from the previous estimate of 0.2 percent.
The office attributed this improvement mainly to increased consumer spending, along with higher government spending.
Regarding the economy's performance throughout 2025, the Statistical Office maintained its previous estimates, indicating weak growth of no more than 0.2 percent. This enabled Germany to avoid a third consecutive year of economic contraction, after experiencing recession in 2023 and 2024.
