Mogadishu: The Somali army announced Tuesday its forces had apprehended 70 Al-Shabaab militants in the southern part of the country.
According to Qatar News Agency, a Ministry of Defense spokesperson indicated that this action was part of recent military operations that have inflicted significant losses on the Al Qaeda-linked movement in the Lower and Middle Shabelle regions.
The spokesperson also emphasized that the army would continue its operations in collaboration with international partners to improve security and stability in the East African nation.
