South African Ambassador to France Found Dead Outside Paris Hotel

Paris: A judicial source in Paris confirmed Tuesday the discovery of the body of South African Ambassador to France, Nathi Mthethwa, 58, found outside a hotel in the French capital.

According to Qatar News Agency, Mthethwa had booked a room on the 22nd floor of the hotel. The window, reportedly sealed shut with force, was found open at the time of the incident. Authorities stated that Mthethwa, known as a close confidant of former South African President Jacob Zuma, was discovered at the base of the hotel. A duty magistrate visited the scene to initiate preliminary investigations.

His wife had reported him missing on Monday, noting she had received a disturbing message from him that evening, according to the prosecutor's office. The case has been assigned to the unit specializing in crimes against individuals.
