South Korea and France Strengthen Bilateral Ties Through Strategic Dialogue

Paris: South Korea and France have discussed bilateral relations and security issues of common concern. This came in a meeting between Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul and his French counterpart Jean-Noel Barrot on Saturday in Paris.

According to Qatar News Agency, the South Korean Foreign Ministry stated that the talks were held as part of the fifth strategic dialogue between the two nations. The discussions focused on cooperation for events marking the 140th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations and a potential visit by French President Emmanuel Macron to South Korea.

The two foreign ministers also concurred on the necessity of elevating bilateral relations to the level of a strategic partnership. This would be achieved through the establishment of various advisory bodies, including the South Korea-France economic dialogue.
