Doha: SpaceX, the American aerospace company, successfully launched 28 new Starlink satellites into space Saturday, marking its second launch within less than six hours.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Falcon 9 rocket lifted off from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida, carrying the new batch of satellites, with the journey taking approximately 65 minutes to reach its designated orbit.
SpaceX confirmed that the rocket's first stage returned safely to Earth after about eight minutes, landing on a drone ship stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.
This mission marks the 55th Falcon 9 launch in 2025 and the 38th dedicated to expanding the Starlink network.
Last night, SpaceX conducted another launch from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, deploying 26 additional satellites of the same model.
The Starlink constellation now consists of over 7,100 operational satellites, providing high-speed internet coverage across most of the world, except polar regions.
