Manama, Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, sent a cable of congratulations to Hammouda Youssef Sabbagh, Speaker of the People's Council of Syria on his country's Independence Day. Al Musallam praised the strong Bahraini-Syrian relations, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Excellency President Bashar Al Assad of Syria. He highlighted the advanced level of cooperation between the two countries, supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and Hussein Arnous, the Prime Minister of Syria. The speaker affirmed the council's keenness to support and enhance parliamentary cooperation, wishing Syria and its people further progress and prosperity.
