Cairo, Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, participated in a joint parliamentary session, held at the Egyptian House of Representatives and co-chaired by the Speaker and his Egyptian counterpart Hanafi Ali Jebali. Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal, Bahraini Ambassador to Egypt, attended the session. Al Musallam expressed deep appreciation and pride in the solid historical Bahraini-Egyptian relations, extending over thousands of years, since the Dilmun civilisation and the great Nile Valley civilisation. He praised the progress of cooperation between the two countries and the supporting stances at various times, supported by the interest of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El Sisi of Egypt, with the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and His Excellency Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt. The Bahraini Speaker appreciated the strong bilateral ties that are underpinned by civilisational, religious, cultural, social ties, and a common belief in the same destiny. He pointed out that Bahrain's hosting of the next Arab summit will constitute a new phase for joint Arab action, in light of the continuous coordination and the meeting of HM the King and HE the Egyptian President last week. Al Musallam affirmed parliamentary support for enhancing bilateral cooperation in the economic and investment sectors, increasing trade and tourism exchange, and all development fields. Speaker Jebali praised the efforts of HM the King and HE the President, and the follow-up of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and HE the Egyptian Prime Minister, in enhancing cooperation in various domains. The Egyptian Speaker appreciated the keenness and interest of His Majesty the King and his outstanding efforts in strengthening Arab cooperation and solidarity. He lauded the outcome of the talks between HM the King and HE the Egyptian President, in enhancing cooperation and su pporting collective efforts to achieve just and comprehensive peace. Jebali pointed out that Bahrain's hosting of the upcoming Arab Summit would contribute to fostering joint Arab action, addressing key issues, and strengthening cooperation across all domains. He affirmed the support for legislative cooperation, continuous parliamentary coordination, and support for the Egyptian-Bahraini partnership, particularly in the economic, investment and development sectors, and increasing the exchange of expertise between the two councils and the General Secretariat.
