Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament Nabih Berri met in Beirut on Sunday with the visiting French Foreign Minister Stephane Sejourne.
During the meeting, they discussed the developments in Lebanon and the region, in addition to the political and developments on the ground at the wake of the ongoing aggression of the Israeli entity on Lebanon and the Gaza Strip, Lebanese Parliament reported in a statement.
Berri stressed that Lebanon will entirely stick with the implementation of the resolution No. 1701 with its all items. He gave an overview of the facts of the Israeli offensive on Lebanon, especially on the southern border villages, citing a map prepared by the National Council for Scientific Research in Lebanon which illustrates the human and material loss inflicted upon the towns and villages in Lebanon, along with lands and agricultural spaces.
He confirmed to Sejourne that the Israeli entity used the internationally banned weapons and breached the engagement rules, stressing that Lebanon is waiting to r
eceive the French de-escalation suggestion on stopping the fighting and implementing the UN resolution to be further studied and provide the response accordingly.
