Doha: The events of sports for all summer programme 2024 are due to kick off tomorrow Sunday in Doha at sports club playgrounds and halls, youth centers, and public parks. Organized by Qatar Sports For All Federation (QSFAF), the events comprise four programmes that feature sport and recreational activities and will run until Aug. 3. The summer programme initiates with the 365-day activity for men at Aspire parks, Al Gharrafa Air-Conditioned Park, Al-Rayyan, while the activity for women will kick off at Al-Laqta Gardens, and Women's Sports Committee. The programme is consecrated to age groups from 7 until 65 and is set to continue daily during the whole week, with sport exercises starting at 5pm and running for one hour. The programme is primarily aimed at spreading awareness of correctly practicing sport coupled with sport tips to further imbue the participants with the proper methods of exercises as per age category. Also, the programme has dedicated a free karate class for women on Saturday of every wee k in Al Luqta Park, from 5pm until 6pm, along with a four-month sport gathering for women at the Education City. Additionally, the programme features organizing Muay Thai training for boys, from 6 to 18 years old, for an hour, from Sunday to Thursday, with the aim of imbuing children with self-defense skills. The events will be held at Al-Arabi, Al-Sailiya, Al-Gharafa, Al-Wakra and Al-Rayyan clubs. QSFA Director of Events and Activities Abdullah Al Dosari affirmed that the third summer activity program will be held at Lusail Gym, both for boys and girls aged 6 to 10 years. He highlighted that such events would be held on daily basis at 9am and will run until 1pm with a wide diversity of physical sport and awareness-raising activities. Al Dosari pointed out that these contests will surely beef up social interaction and raise the spirit of cooperation among children, adding that mini sport activities in physical fitness are organized each week, along with multiple sport activities for male and female childre n so as to reinforce self-confidence and build their physical fitness.
