Strong Competition Marks Final Round of HH the Father Amir Prix 2026

Al shaqab: The fourth and final round of HH the Father Amir Prix 2026 kicked off on Thursday at Al Shaqab's Longines outdoor and indoor arenas. The round featured eight diverse events across one-, three-, and five-star categories, plus a local 60cm class. More than 240 riders competed for prize money exceeding EUR 3.3 million. According to Qatar News Agency, the opening day saw the three-star 135cm and 140cm events, followed by the first five-star competitions at 140cm and 150cm on the main outdoor Longines arena. Concurrently, the secondary outdoor arena hosted the three-star 125cm and one-star 110cm events, while the indoor arena held the one-star 120cm and local 60cm classes. In the five-star 150cm event, Austrian rider Max Kohner clinched victory in 65.91 seconds on Grace, ahead of Britain's Scott Brash (66.56s) on Hello Jefferson and Portugal's Duarte Cipra (67.98s) on Verinhel. The winners were presented with their prizes by Badr bin Mohammed Al Darwish, president of the Qatar Equestrian Federation. American Christine Vanderveen dominated the three-star 135cm class, finishing in 30.46 seconds on Lionis, followed by Qatari Suhaim Hamad Al Yafei (30.78s) on Flash and Iraqi Zaid Ali (34.43s) on Querani. Vanderveen also took first place in the three-star 125cm and five-star 140cm events, showcasing remarkable consistency. Other notable results included French rider Lara Treba winning the three-star 140cm in 24.73 seconds on Flash de Taima, and Saudi riders excelling in the one-star events: Fahad Al Shammari (110cm) and Khalid Al Hadi (120cm) secured first-place finishes. The local 60cm class was won by Fatima Khaled Al Salem in 39.04 seconds. HH the Father Amir Prix 2026 features four international rounds from one- to five-star levels, alongside junior and youth competitions. The second, third, and fourth rounds serve as qualifiers for the FEI Group VII Finals. The inaugural edition is organized jointly by the Qatar Equestrian Federation, Al Shaqab, and the Qatar Olympic Committee, with Qatar Airways as an official partner.
