Al shaqab: The first round of HH the Father Amir Equestrian Prix reached full swing on Saturday at the Longines outdoor and indoor arenas in Al Shaqab, a Member of Qatar Foundation (QF).
According to Qatar News Agency, in the Two-Star 135 cm round, Egyptian rider Mohamed Al Shenawy on Camellia clinched first place with a time of 65.44 seconds. He was followed by compatriot Haya Al Baraei on Kadoki in 68.53 seconds, and French rider Megan Moisonier on Jcaria in 68.87 seconds.
In the Two-Star 145 cm round, British rider Milly Allen triumphed on Quick Dyamond in 64.86 seconds. German participant Philip Weishaupt claimed second place on Kalo in 66.85 seconds, while French rider Megan Moisonier finished third on Quib De Coeur in 67.08 seconds.
Saudi rider Abdullah Al Sharbatly excelled in the Two-Star 130 cm round, taking first place on Scarpo in 32.44 seconds. Qatari rider Saheem Hamad Al Yafei finished second on Flash in 34.28 seconds, with Saudi rider Fahad Al Juaid securing third place on Fatna in 36.28 seconds.
In the Four-Star 145 cm round, Italian rider Emanuele Gaudiano emerged victorious on Vasco in 65.34 seconds. He was followed by compatriot Roberto Privitali on Giociano in 67.33 seconds, and Austrian Gerfried Bach on Ideal in 68.47 seconds.
The Four-Star 150 cm jump-off saw Saudi rider Abdullah Al Sharbatly again topping the podium on Boikmans in 39.95 seconds. Austrian Max Kahner placed second on Quantum in 40.73 seconds, and British rider Sienna Charles finished third on Stardust in 41.04 seconds.
In the One-Star 115 cm round, Qatari rider Ali Omar Al Ansari snagged first place on Netika in 52.6 seconds. Syrian rider Sara Al Masri finished second on Georgia in 56.63 seconds, with Abdulmohsen Al Shammari taking third place on Filton in 56.76 seconds.
Saudi rider Badr Al Fard won the One-Star 125 cm round on Murdock in 58.38 seconds. Egyptian rider Fatma El Keshawi placed second on Quintalo in 59.90 seconds, while Saudi rider Abdulaziz Al Eid finished third on Kayin in 59.91 seconds.
The first round of the Prix concludes tomorrow with seven additional events for classes from One-Star to Four-Star at the Longines arena in Al Shaqab. The competition comprises four international tours for One-Star to Five-Star classes, alongside junior and young rider events. The first tour was held from January 2 to 4, the second from January 8 to 10, the third from January 22 to 24, and the fourth and final tour will take place from January 29 to 31. Rounds two to four will feature qualifying events for the FEI Group VII finals, highlighting Qatar's commitment to elite equestrian sport and international excellence.
