Sudan Affirms Support for Gaza Reconstruction Initiative

Cairo: Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council of the Republic of the Sudan, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al Burhan, affirmed Sudan's support for the Egyptian-Arab initiative to reconstruct Gaza without displacing the Strip's residents.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al Burhan, during the Extraordinary Arab Summit on the Palestinian issue in Cairo, stated that they convene to affirm the unified Arab position rejecting any attempts to displace Palestinians from their land. He highlighted the support for the diplomatic movements of Arab countries at both regional and international levels.

Al Burhan reiterated Sudan's commitment to the Palestinian cause, advocating for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital. He expressed strong opposition to any plans targeting the displacement of Palestinians.

Regarding Sudan's internal developments, Al Burhan emphasized Sudan's progress towards restoring stability and peace in areas occupied by the Rapid Support Forces. He assured of Sudan's readiness to cease military operations if the Rapid Support Forces withdraw from the occupied areas and lift the siege on Al Fashir and other cities in the Darfur region.
