Sudan: Sudan's Sea Ports Corporation and Turkiye's Argaz energy company signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Wednesday to build a berth at Suakin Port. This agreement marks the first project of its kind aimed at supplying Sudan with large quantities of gas at affordable prices, addressing the country's energy needs. According to Qatar News Agency, the Sudanese Minister of Transport, Eng. Saif Al Nasr Al Tijani, remarked on the longstanding cooperation between Sudan and Turkiye, highlighting that the signing of this MOU is a testament to their deep-rooted relationship. Al Tijani expressed optimism about the future, indicating that this cooperation will continue to grow with the potential signing of additional MOUs and agreements, leading to significant achievements in the near future. Argaz Representative Mohamed Dabbagh confirmed the company's commitment to providing substantial quantities of gas to Sudan at affordable rates. He indicated that the project is expected to commence operations within a timeframe of one year to a year and a half, signaling a promising development in Sudan's energy sector.
