Suspicious Object Detonates Aboard Lebanese Army Vehicle, Killing Soldier, Injuring Two Others

Doha: A Lebanese military personnel was killed, while an officer and another personnel were wounded Saturday when a suspicious object exploded aboard an army vehicle in the town of Mansouri, in the Tyre district of southern Lebanon.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Lebanese military stated that the blast occurred while the servicemen were in the town. The competent authorities are continuing their investigation to gather evidence and determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. Meanwhile, Israeli offensives in southern Lebanon continued.

Israeli fighter jets carried out an aerial offensive against the town of Mansouri in the Tyre district, while an Israeli drone conducted another strike targeting the town of Nabatieh Al-Fawqa, as reported by Lebanon's National News Agency.

Lebanon and Israel recently signed a US-brokered framework agreement that includes security arrangements, the redeployment of the Lebanese military to the south, and the reconstruction of the affected areas.

The agreement also aims to revitalize the Lebanese economy, establish direct deconfliction channels between the two sides, and adopt confidence-building measures in anticipation of a lasting peace.
